I love the feel of this cover as we look into the lady’s mind and search for? what? It offers a great example of how a centered picture can be made to work in the right context. Mostly, this works because of its amazing colors and it’s visceral and deep meaning—and we assume the stories are too. This is visual storytelling.

3) The Winning Book Cover will also be placed in the Facebook group Just Great Books for 1 year as the pinned post. A group where readers and writers give regular feedback on covers.

TIMING
This competition will accept entries from January 1st 2021 to December 31st 2021. The winner will be decided at 8pm GMT on the 31st of January 2022.

Also provide the title of your ebook, print book or audio book.
Also provide your Name and Email.
You also have the option of providing a Designer credit.

The 4 main criteria we will be looking at (Books Published in 2021):
1) Impact, or stopping power.
2) Portray the tone & genre of the book accurately.
3) Suitability to a selling environment.
4) Quality of typography and photograph.

Let’s face it, if people didn’t actually “judge books by their covers” there would be a lot of graphic designers out of a job. Like an album cover, a book cover is a crucial element of the reading experience.

A book cover is the first thing you see when determining whether or not to pick up a book. One of my favourite Facebook groups is Just Great Books where people can, and do, post some great covers. My Blog has some of the best book covers around 😀
